you’re still the one

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're the one I want for life
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

Ain't nothin' better
We beat the odds together
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin'
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're the one I want for life
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

Im so glad we made it
Look how far we've come my baby

i know that 5 years is too short to say that we already made it but im still happy that inspite of everything that had happened, we're still together. alam ko marami na tayong pinagdaanan and im thankful kasi buo pa rin ang pamilya natin. i know it's not easy but God is really good that He continues to guide and bless us. salamat brod. sana maging magkakosa tayo habambuhay. luv u. hapi anniv.

ala lang

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

hay buhay, nakakatamad.

ala akong magawa.

alang gagawin eh.

pero come to think of it, mid april na din pala.

ilang araw na lang matatapos na ang buwan.

ilang buwan na lang matatapos na ang kontrata ko.

san ako pupunta pagkatapos nito?

hindi ko pa alam.

sigurado maghahanap uli ng trabaho.

saan?

kung saan-saan.

kung saan may pagkakataon.

kung saan pwedeng umasenso.

kung walang mapuntahan?

eh di balik sa pinas.

balik sa buhay pinoy.

holy week no more?

Tuesday, April 3, 2007

i regularly read news online. abs-cbnnews.com at gmanews.tv. laging nag-uumpisa ang araw ko dito sa opisina nang ganun. nagbabasa ng balita sa pinas habang nag-aalmusal. kahapon may news about sa holy week programs ng abs. something struck me.

Good Friday
What are Kuya's housemates up to on Good Friday night? Find out on "Pinoy Big Brother Season 2" at 10 p.m.

bakit may pbb on good friday? ang weird. dati nakasignoff lahat ng tv stations from maunday thursday to black saturday. may palabas man, puro tungkol sa holy week. sabagay, ilang years na rin na hindi na nagsi-signoff ang tv stations. nagpapalabas na nga nga movies na wala namang kinalaman sa lent. pero ngayon, isang reality tv show? duh! kailangan niyo ba talagang kumita? hindi man lang ba kayo makapagbigay kahit isang araw? (if i remember it right, may wowowee rin nga pala last year.) sabagay karamihan naman sa mga artista eh hindi nag-oobserve ng holy week. they look at it as a break. pahinga sa mga trabaho. kung saan-saang lugar nagpupunta para magbakasyon. beach. out of the country. so now it makes sense to me. ayokong lahatin pero that's how it looks. hindi talaga sila marunong mangilin.

naalala ko tuloy ang lola ko. hindi ko masasabing religious talaga ang family namin. pero we were brought up observing holy week every year. bawal mag-ingay. bawal magpatugtog ng malakas. bawal kumain ng meat. on good friday, before 12 noon, dapat tapos ng kumain at maligo ang lahat. then everyone will watch the Siete Palabras on tv. in the afternoon, we would attend the procession at Calamba Church in Sampaloc. Sabi ng lola ko, bawal maligo from 3pm of Good Friday to 10am of Black Saturday. Patay daw ang tubig. Although parang kasabihan lang ng matanda, sinusunod namin. Then Saturday night, maaga kami dapat matulog. Kasi early dawn ng Easter Sunday, umaattend kami ng Salubong sa E. Quintos, Sampaloc. (My family used to live there before moving to Laloma in 1982, my grandpa even became a president of Samahang Balumpare, the group which organizes the Salubong). The Salubong starts with a mass at 4am. After the mass, the procession starts. The procession commences with a reenactment of the meeting of Jesus Christ and Mama Mary at an ark with an angel, whom removes the black veil of Mama Mary. Everytime I attend this, I really get goose bumps. It's as if I was really there in the time when they actually met.

Now, for the first time in my life, Im going to miss attending the Salubong. It really makes me sad. Here's another special occasion Im missing because I have to work here.
